COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company (Pvt.) Limited says it will take strict legal action against individuals who vandalize the Lotus Tower.
The Company noted that it is the duty of the general public to help preserve the iconic tower.
The Lotus Tower Management Company confirmed that several individuals who defaced the property have already been arrested.
The Company said it already has to bear a massive maintenance cost and due to damages caused by visitors more funds will have to be allocated.
Meanwhile, last week it was confirmed that more than 500,000 people have visited the Colombo Lotus Tower since it was declared opened to the public in September last year.
The Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company (Pvt.) Limited said the ticket number 500,000 was sold to an individual who visited the tower on the 6th of January from Matara.
The Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company (Pvt.) Limited has generated an income of Rs.268 million in the past months.
The company noted tickets to visit the tower are being issued between 9am and 9pm from Monday to Friday while visitors will be allowed to remain until 10pm.
Tickets will be issued from 9am to 10pm on the weekends.
The company added that during the weekend, the public can remain at the Lotus Tower till 11pm.
