Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Nalin Bandara Jayamaha claims the public is facing further crisis due to solutions provided by the government to existing issues in the country.
Speaking during a media briefing today, MP Jayamaha said all sectors and services of the country have been disrupted.
The Parliamentarian said fuel and electricity are essential services for all sectors adding the unavailability of either is detrimental.
He said hospitals, transport sector, small scale to large scale businesses are heavily burdened due to the shortage of essential items.
He said the present administration only provides temporary solutions adding the situation will only worsen.
The MP said even though the government claimed the tourism industry was booming, a majority of foreigners who visit the country were from either Russia or Ukraine adding however that too has been disrupted due to the present turn of events.
On a separate note, MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha said there is a risk of a shortage of poultry and egg products in the future.
MP Jayamaha said the public is facing these issues due to the lack of centralised governance.
He said the government must prioritise the lives of the people and not highway projects.
The MP said citizens are starving while they are also unable to engage in livelihoods.
He said poultry farmers are being forced to sell their farms.
MP Jayamaha said the only purpose of highway projects, large scale development and the ‘100,000 Projects’ rural development programme was to engage in corruption and to embezzle funds.
