Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Ranjith Madduma Bandara says the public is reaping the results of poor decisions of the government since coming into power.
Speaking at a media briefing MP Bandara said health authorities should be granted decision making powers, understanding the gravity of the coronavirus situation.
The MP said after a lapse of 14 months, the government has now begun fast tracking vaccinations, while some Ministers during that period chased behind various cures and other beliefs.
He added the government brought about ruin owing to poor decisions and mismanagement.
The Parliamentarian said experts have called for the country to be placed in lockdown adding that the government however disagrees claiming such a decision cannot be taken owing to the economy.
He questioned who was responsible for ruining the economy, and charged that businessmen who contributed to bringing in the current government into power, were granted Rs.600 billion in tax concessions.
MP Madduma Bandara questioned if the economy trumps people’s lives, adding people are now paying with their lives due to mismanagement of the government.
