Minister Mahinda Amaraweera says increased public displeasure towards the government is not a secret.

Speaking to media in Kandy today, Minister Amaraweera said the assurance by the President to fulfil all promises of the government within the next three years will be fulfilled.

The Minister said they weren’t able to provide solutions to issues faced by the public during the past two years, a fact that the President also acknowledges.

He said the President declared the government will identify shortcomings and implement all policies within the “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour” policy statement as expected by the public.

Minister Amaraweera said they will support the government process towards development.

The Minister claimed neither him nor his party will hinder the country’s development.

On a separate note, Minister Amaraweera said the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is prepared to include all individuals with optimistic attitudes including former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga in the party’s political journey.

He said they have been vested with the responsibility to gather all factions around the SLFP adding they have no need to shun anyone.

The Minister said any individual can join their alliance adding the SLFP has no concerns in joining hands with any faction that will work towards developing the country.

He said the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is also part of the SLFP.

He claimed the SLFP’s goal is to develop the country by joining hands with all factions instead of engaging in conflicts.
