Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Eran Wickramaratne says in comparison to 2021, the 2022 Budget allocations for the health sector have been curtailed by 20 percent.
Speaking at a media briefing today, the MP said the Budget allocation for education has also been reduced by 3 percent for the year 2022.
He stated that a clear understanding can be gauged after tomorrow, when the 2022 Budget is present in Parliament.
While stating that the government portrays to have increased the Budget allocation, MP Wickramaratne said in reality the allocation has been significantly reduced.
The Parliamentarian added the public is angered over the actions of the present government.
The MP said taking to the streets is not motivated by the opposition adding that the public is burdened by the actions of the government.
Wickramaratne said when an uprising is prevalent, the government must amend its policies instead of laying blame on the opposition.
He called on the President to refrain from using various excuses and called for him to instead listen to the people and amend his policies for the better adding he must not find fault with others.
