Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Ranjith Bandara says it is now evident to the people that those who were part of the recent protests did not have any solutions to the issues faced by the country.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, MP Bandara said the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, the JVP, the Frontline Socialist Party, the Inter University Students’ Federation, trade unions, non-governmental organisations and artistes were part of the protests for days.
He said however they did not present any solutions to the issues.
MP Ranjith Bandara said Parliamentarian Harini Amarasuriya who was also part of the struggle admitted that she did not have answers to the issues although they demanded the resignation of then President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
He said former President Rajapaksa during the last stages of his term invited the opposition parties to take up posts and provide answers to the issues.
MP Ranjith Bandara said Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa wrote three letters in response to President’s invitations but did not come forward to work for the country.
He said MP Premadasa has been continuously criticising the efforts of the government without providing any answers.
