COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka is scheduled to make public the electricity tariff revision proposed by the Ceylon Electricity Board.
PUCSL Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said the CEB proposal to reduce tariffs by 3 per cent and the alternative proposal of the Public Utilities Commission will be published on the 1st of June.
He said according to the PUCSL Act, recommendations and proposals from all stakeholders must be obtained when revising tariffs.
Janaka Ratnayake noted accordingly, the PUCSL will accept suggestions and recommendations pertaining to proposed electricity tariff revision until the 20th of June.
He said they will accept both written and oral submissions.
The PUCSL Chairman added that considering the proposals of the public and other stakeholders, a amended plan for the revision of electricity tariffs will be suggested.
He said then the finalized tariffs that will come into force on the 1st of July will be published on 30th of June.
PUCSL Chairman Janaka Ratnayake therefore requested the general public to submit their proposals to revise the electricity tariffs.
