The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna believes several proposals will be tabled through the 2020 Budget in order to uplift the rural economy.
Minister Gamini Lokuge speaking at a media briefing today said there are concerns in the entirety of the world market, adding that foreign exchange is an issue for all countries alike.
Minister Lokuge added through the 2022 Budget the Minister of Finance and the government are considering ways to uplift the rural economy.
Commenting on trade union action by teachers and principals, the Minister said trade unions are not acting according to children’s needs but according to their personal gain such as salaries and benefits.
He noted that the government has announced its decision pertaining to salary anomalies of teachers and principals.
He claimed as schools remain closed an assessment cannot be made on the number of teachers who are in favour of the union action.
