COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Secretary of the All Ceylon Medical Officers Association Dr. Jayantha Bandara says professionals will continue to leave the country due to the proposed tax increase.

Dr. Jayantha Bandara said the new taxes will result in a massive brain drain.

He said the country is losing valuable human resource and will continue to do so, if the proposed taxes are implemented as announced.

Meanwhile, on Friday, the Government Medical Officers’ Association staged a protest in Colombo against the new taxes. Several other unions have also threatened to stages protests against the new taxes. They also claim that professionals will continue to leave the country due to high taxes.
