The Lanka Private Bus Owner’s Association says buses will be deployed at full capacity for inter provincial travel as well as within provinces.
Speaking to NewsRadio Chairman of the Association Gemunu Wijeratne said therefore passengers will be able to maintain social distancing in buses.
Wijeratne also requested only vaccinated persons to use buses as much as possible, amidst the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the maximum number of buses are being deployed to ensure there is no congestion.
He added however it will take several days for bus operations to return to normalcy.
Wijeratne said only 50% of buses are operating across the island, as bus operators haven’t resumed duties as per usual.
He however requested passengers to adhere to health advice when traveling in buses.
