COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Prices of wheat flour and sugar have been increased.
According to the Essential Food Commodities Importers and Traders Association, the price of a kilogram of wheat flour has been increased by Rs.10.
This follows yesterday’s announcement by the Ministry of Finance that the Customs duty concession of Rs.3 per kilogram of wheat flour has been removed.
State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya making the announcement however said the revision of duty will not result in the change of prices of wheat flour.
Meanwhile, the Essential Food Commodities Importers and Traders Association also said the price of a kilogram of sugar has also been increased by Rs. 25 with immediate effect.
