President Ranil Wickremesinghe says the proposals presented by each faction during recent discussions with political parties for the establishment of an all-party government will be given to all participating parties by next Monday.
President Wickremesinghe made this statement during discussions held at the Presidential Secretariat with the leaders of the 11 independent parties in Parliament and the 43rd Brigade on the establishment of an all-party government.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has noted he is hoping to hold discussions with the JVP, the National People’s Power and a few other Tamil political parties in the future and commended all factions for the enthusiasm shown to establish an all-party government by setting aside political ideologies for the best interest of people.
During the meeting Parliamentarian Champika Ranawaka said the 43rd Brigade is working optimistically with the President’s position regarding bringing back the 19th Amendment to the Constitution and also emphasized the need to move away from the culture of political appointments and instead appoint professionals to head government institutions.
