President & the govt. united in achieving 2023 goals-PM

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena says the President and the government are united in working for the people and are committed in achieving the goals for 2023.

The Prime Minister addressing the gathering at the Office of the Prime Minister in assuming duties for the New Year said, his hope for the country is to ensure the President’s Office, ministries, departments, and state sector institutions as well as all government and private sector employees join hands in building a proud future.

The Premier noted that more responsibility is assigned to the public service, adding that the government is dedicated to the process of ensuring efficiency, orderliness and effectiveness in all public services.

The Prime Minister said as a country that has experienced setbacks and resurgences throughout history, despite the many challenges a transformation can be brought about.

He reiterated that Sri Lanka is going through one of the most challenging periods in history.

The Prime Minister meawhile appealed to all employees to extend their support in fulfilling duties of the public service in order to ensure a developed, modern, and self-sufficient country.
