The Samagi Jana Balawegaya claims the government has not paid attention to the short-term program presented by the opposition as a solution to the prevailing economic crisis.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, Parliamentarian Harsha de Silva claimed President Ranil Wickremesinghe is yet to present a program to overcome the prevailing crisis.
The Parliamentarian said President Wickremesinghe presented a frame work for a programme but has not outlined what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and a time line to achieve his goals.
MP de Silva commented that the SJB formulated a 10 point programme in order to repay debt and to rebuild the economy.
He said this was formulated through time after observing the economy.
Meanwhile, MP Harsha de Silva also praised the QR code system introduced for fuel allocation.
MP de Silva said the program will assist in providing more technical services to consumers in the future.
The MP conveyed his praise to the steps taken by Minister Kanchana Wijesekera to distribute the limited stocks of fuel.
He claimed the prevailing issues will not be solved merely by the reduction in fuel and gas queues.
The Parliamentarian said the government must take steps to utilise technology in other sectors as well.
