COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Indian Navy Chief Admiral Hari Kumar has called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe in Colombo.
The Indian High Commission in Colombo said during the meeting, discussions were focused on furthering defence cooperation between Sri Lanka and India in order to strengthen bilateral ties.
The President and the Indian Navy Chief have also discussed several other matters of mutual interest.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s role in steering the Colombo Security Conclave towards ensuring peace and security in the region was also acknowledged.
Meanwhile, Indian Navy Chief Admiral Hari Kumar who is on an official visit, also called on Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena in Colombo.
During the meeting, two parties have discussed the importance of strong defence ties between Sri Lanka and India and also ways to further strengthen existing linkages between Armed Forces of the two countries.
