Ordinary postal rates will be increased with effect from the 15th of August.
According to the gazette notification issued by the Minister of Mass Media, the normal letter postage charge will be increased from Rs. 15 to Rs. 50.
Meanwhile, the registered postage which currently has a minimum price of Rs. 45 will be increased to Rs.110.
Following the amendments to the Post Office Ordinance, the normal letter, business mail, parcel post and bulk mail charges will be increased.
Earlier this month, the foreign postage rates were also increased. The price revision was the first since January 2018.
