Newly appointed Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe says economic stability cannot be ensured without political stability.

Speaking to media yesterday, the Minister said political stability is crucial in order to face the challenges in the country.

Minister Rajapaksa said priority should be given to providing solutions to the prevalent economic crisis and ensuring the supply of necessities to the public without shortages.

The Minister noted that economic stability cannot be achieved without political stability.

The Justice Minister said although he never intended to accept a Ministerial post, he did so as per the request of the President and the Prime Minister.

Minister Rajapakshe said he was invited to fulfil his responsibilities as the Justice Minister in an independent capacity
