COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Public Health Inspector’s Union of Sri Lanka says it has not uncovered any matter in recently imported eggs which will lead to a health crisis in the country.
Speaking to media, PHI Union Chairman Upul Rohana said experts have conducted various tests on the imported eggs.
He said samples obtained from around 100 eggs were tested by experts in recent days.
Upul Rohana noted that tests have determined that there is no substance or materiel in the eggs will cause harm to the environment or pose risk to the health sector.
He said although there are concerns about the impact the imported eggs may have on the country, they have no evidence to prove that consuming imported eggs will cause health complications in humans.
