Authorities today commenced administering vaccine doses against COVID-19 to Sri Lankans who are due to take up employment overseas, at the Army Hospital in Narahenpita.
The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau said the Pfizer vaccine which is accepted by several countries will be administered to expatriates.
Around 1,200 persons residing in the Western Province and are expecting jobs overseas, who are registered with the Foreign Employment Bureau and have completed the relevant documents, were administered COVID-19 vaccine doses today.
Persons who have received job permits for overseas employment and received the necessary approval can register with the Foreign Employment Bureau via www.slbfe.lk, to obtain the vaccine.
Around 8,000 Sri Lankan expatriates are due to receive the vaccine.
The vaccinations will be carried out by the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps.
