The government has announced that it plans to administer Pfizer vaccine doses as a booster shot to selected groups after the 1st of November.

Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa accordingly issued directives to administer the booster shot to health workers, members of the Tri-Forces, Police personnel, those involved in the tourism industry and other front-line workers.

General Silva said the decision to lift inter-provincial travel restrictions was reached considering the current situation when the COVID-19 Prevention Task Force convened today.
