The Petroleum Products (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Bill has been gazetted.
According to the gazette, once approved, the bill will enable relevant authorities to grant permission to selected companies to import necessary amounts of fuel in addition to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and Lanka Indian Oil Company.
Accordingly, license will be give to selected company to procure fuel based on their requirement.
The draft bill was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on the 25th of April.
It will be tabled in Parliament shortly for approval.
