Permission has been granted to re-open state universities under several stages from the 1st of November.
Chairman of the University Grants Commission Prof. Sampath Amaratunge informed NewsRadio that Vice Chancellors of respective universities have been given permission to decide on reopening dates.
Under the first stage only students who have completed two weeks after getting both doses of a vaccine against COVID-19 will be allowed to attend lectures.
Universities have also been advised to resume classes for only 25 percent of students under the first phase.
