Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga says a state of the art PCR laboratory at the Bandaranaike International Airport will be opened on the 20th of September.

The new PCR laboratory can perform 7,000 PCR tests daily.

Accordingly, a PCR test report for tourists visiting the country will be issued within three hours.

Therefore, fully vaccinated tourists who test negative will be allowed to enter the country without any hindrance.
