More than 53,000 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka thus far in March.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); More than 53,000 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka thus far in March.

According to data issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, 53,838 tourists arrived in the first two weeks of March.

The SLTDA said in March, the highest number of tourists arrived from Russia.

A total of 12,762 Russian nationals have arrived in the country thus far in March.

Meanwhile, the SLTDA added 7,348 tourists from India, 4,289 from Germany, 3,937 from the United Kingdom and 2,716 individuals from the United States also have arrived in Sri Lanka this month.

The SLTDA said 107,639 tourists in total arrived in February.

Accordingly, 264,022 tourists have arrived in the country so far this year.
