New Delhi: India made headlines at the 95th Academy Awards with two massive wins – Naatu Naatu from SS Rajamouli’s RRR won Best Original Song and Kartiki Gonsalves’ The Elephant Whisperers won Best Documentary Short Subject.
A third nominee, Shaunak Sen’s All That Breathes, missed out on the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature Film.
The first Oscar in the ceremony went to Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio for Best Animated Feature Film.
Everything Everywhere All At Once won four of the biggest awards of the night, including Best Director for the Daniels. Ke Huy Quan won Best Supporting actor for Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Jamie Lee Curtis took home the Oscar for the Best Supporting Actress for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once. All Quiet On The Western Front won Best Cinematography, Best International Feature Film, Best Original Score and Best Production Design.
The Oscars are being hosted by Jimmy Kimmel (for the third time).
This year, the Academy put a crisis team in place to ensure the show runs smoothly and avoid controversies like last year’s Slapgate.
