Minister of Irrigation Chamal Rajapaksa says the decision to introduce organic fertiliser for farming activities is not aimed at harming any faction or destroy the country’s agriculture sector.
Minister Rajapaksa said the decision was taken considering the wellbeing of the future generation.
The Minister said the move should be taken forward for the betterment of the country.
Minister Chamal Rajapaksa was speaking during the debate on the second reading of the Immigrants and Emigrants Amendment Bill in Parliament.
Minister Rajapaksa said for years several parties have called for the introduction of the green agriculture concept.
He therefore requested the opposition to resolve any issues that may arise from the move through discussion instead of holding protests to achieve its political objectives.
Minister Chamal Rajapaksa said they willing to listen to the view of the opposition and amend their programmes.
