Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says an option of both organic and chemical fertiliser should be available till accustomed to organic fertiliser.

Speaking during a programme in Lunugamwehera the Opposition Leader said, the public and farmers are at risk as a result of the government reaching decisions without a definite and methodical plan.

MP Premadasa claimed the importation of chemical fertiliser was banned as the government lacks funds, and not out of the concern and wellbeing of the people.

He attributed the lack of funds to the government providing tax concessions to the wealthy, and losing government revenue.

MP Premadasa said while a healthy lifestyle must be created in the country, it must be done in a systematic manner.

Commenting on the government’s decision to summon all state sector employees to work from tomorrow, the Opposition Leader said it may lead to a disaster.

He added expectant women and mother’s with small children are among state sector employees, and questioned if the government thought of their safety when reaching this decision.

The Opposition Leader claimed the country needs an understanding government that will prioritise the people and address their concerns.
