Parliamentarian Nalin Bandara says in the event the Provincial Council Election is held next year, seven members of his faction will resign from Parliament and dedicate themselves to win the election.
MP Bandara speaking in Parliament said if an election is held next year, public support towards the government will be apparent.
The MP claimed the people’s displeasure towards the government will be made clear, if an election is held next year.
MP Jayamaha said 6.9 million people cast their vote with high expectations. He noted the youth at the time claimed President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will not let his family members act as they wish and will be an exceptional leader.
He added the opposition also thought the same.
MP Jayamaha said however at present, government MPs are unable to go to villages and conduct rallies, as people will chase them away.
He claimed the government had canceled elections including the Provincial Council and Local Authorities elections, as they have no alternative.
The MP challenged the government to conduct any election next year.
