The Institute of Democratic Reforms and Electoral Studies says the opposition and the Speaker of House have failed to fulfil their tasks within Parliament over the prevalent political crisis.
The organisation said the Cabinet would have been rejected less by the public, had its members been individuals who are less criticised.
Executive Director Manjula Gajanayake said the country’s youth have taken to the streets over their disappointment in the country’s political system.
He said crucial Constitutional decisions must be reached through the means of discussions.
Gajanayake said while calls for members of a family to step down are widely being circulated, a group that is free of corruption and bribery must be appointed to Ministerial posts in order to address the present crisis.
