COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Three-wheeler operators say they are prepared to reduce the three-wheeler fares once the weekly fuel quota increase is enforced across the country.
The Chairman of the All-island Three Wheel Drivers’ and Owners’ Association, Sudil Jayaruk said the quota for three-wheelers has been increased from 5 litres to 10 litres.
He said from the day, the quota increase is enforced across the country, they will reduce the fares.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the All Island Three-Wheeler Drivers’ Association Lalith Dharmasekera said authorities must provide 5 litres daily to three-wheelers.
He said without such an increase in fuel quota, they are unable to reduce three-wheeler fares.
Meanwhile, the Road Passenger Transport Authority of the Western Province said in future it will provide fuel for three-wheelers based on usage.
