Sri Lanka Railways informs that train operations along the Northern Railway line will be restricted for five months from today (8).
Deputy General Manager of Transportation Gamini Seneviratne said the railway line from Anuradhapura to Vavuniya is being modernised leading to the restrictions.
The renovation is part of the first phase of the modernisation project of the railway line between Mahawa and Omanthai.
The renovation project is being carried out under Indian assistance at a cost of USD 91 million.
