The Government Nursing Officers Association will withdraw from services for one hour between noon and 1pm in protest of failure to provide solutions to issued in the nursing service.
Speaking to NewsRadio, Chairman of the Association Saman Rathnapriya said the protest will be staged at 100 hospitals across the island.
He said trade union action will be intensified if their solutions to their demands are not provided.
Rathnapriya said several demands were discussed with the government and the Ministry of Health but to no avail.
He charged that the Health Secretary is yet to issue the Gazette Notification on promotions in the nursing service.
Rathnapriya claimed 25 days have lapsed since trade union action adding that the Cabinet Paper in this regard was tabled and approved yet subsequent measures have not been taken.
