COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The National Transport Commission says it is in the process of calculating bus fares following yesterday’s fuel price reduction.
The NTC said once the calculations are completed, it will announce whether a bus fare revision will be implemented or not.
Yesterday, Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association Gemunu Wijerathna said they are unable to reduce bus fares despite the diesel price revision.
Speaking to NewsRadio, Chairman of the Association Gemunu Wijerathna said they cannot reduce fares based on a Rs.15 diesel price reduction per litre.
Domestic fuel prices were further reduced with effect from yesterday.
Accordingly, a litre of Octane-92 petrol was reduced by Rs. 7, Octane-95 petrol by Rs. 10, Auto Diesel by Rs. 15 and a litre of Super Diesel was reduced by Rs. 135.
