The Commissioner of Ayurveda Dr. Dhammika Abeygunawardena today clarified that coronavirus positive patients, being treated at ayurvedic medical centres, have not succumbed to the virus.
Addressing a media briefing at the Government Information Department today, Dr. Abeygunawardena said in indigenous medical practices, the patient and not the illness is prioritised.
He said 1,033 beds have been set up to treat COVID-19 patients with 835 admitted as of last night.
The Commissioner said during a period of one and a half months 3,820 patients have been treated with 2,843 individuals discharged without facing any medical complication
