COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Private bus operators say bus fares will not be increased despite yesterday’s fuel price revision.
Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association Gemunu Wijerathna noted that yesterday’s price revision will not have a major bearing on their industry.
He said therefore they will not increase bus fares.
Wijerathna added that authorities reduced diesel prices last month by a similar amount.
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation increased diesel and kerosene oil prices with effect from today (12).
Accordingly, a litre of auto diesel has been increased by Rs.15 to Rs.430 while a litre of kerosene oil has been increased by Rs.25 to Rs.365.
Meanwhile, the CPC announced that prices of other fuel types, super diesel and petrol, will remain unchanged.
