No approval for agriculture sector officials to leave overseas

A decision has been taken not to grant approval for officials attached to the agriculture sector to leave overseas for a lengthy period.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); A decision has been taken not to grant approval for officials attached to the agriculture sector to leave overseas for a lengthy period.

Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera is required to approval such leave of absence.

Minister Amaraweera said considering the requirement locally, he has decided not to grant permission and it will cover officials attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Development and Provincial offices.

The matter was discussed in detail during a conference at the Ministry premises.
