Foreign Minister Prof. GL Peiris says no agreement has been signed thus far to transfer the shares of the Kerawalapitiya Yugadanavi Power Plant to a US based firm.
Speaking to media in Kandy today, Minister Peiris said the matter was still under discussion.
The Minister claimed a decision beneficial for the country will be reached after considering all factors.
Responding to allegations levelled by various parties regarding the Indian Foreign Secretary’s visit to Sri Lanka, Minster Peiris said the government was not affected in any manner during the Foreign Secretary’s visit.
He said the Foreign Secretary made no demands pertaining to any issue including the 13th Amendment to the Constitution nor the Trincomalee oil tank farm.
The Minister claimed the visit was not related to any singular project adding the two countries have deep ties mainly based on Buddhism and Buddhist culture.
