The government has reached a decision to commence a new programme to uplift online education methods for school children.
Accordingly, the programme will be carried out using separate television channels, for each grade.
The government is expected to spend Rs.24 million for the programme.
Speaking to media in Kandy Minister of Mass Media Keheliya Rambukwella said concerns have arisen pertaining to programmes conducted through mobile phones with data charges and signal issues.
The Minister said therefore 16 channels will be allocated for each grade, while children will be able to rewind for up to 48 hours.
Minister Rambukwella added the support of the private sector is also expected for the programme.
