COLOMBO (NewsRadio); A new tourism mobile app will be introduced from the 1st of March, for the benefit and provide protection to tourists.

The new mobile app can be operated in seven languages.

Minister of Tourism Harin Fernando said the app will be introduced to protect tourists from various scams and nefarious activities.

According to Tourism Minister Harin Fernando the new app is one of the best mobile applications used in the tourism industry in other countries.

Meanwhile, three-wheeler owners will be able to register in order to be included in the system.

Around the clock active call centre will also record every communication and store them in the app’s database.

The Tourism Minister noted that Police will have the ability to monitor the app and take appropriate action in the event of any suspicious or violent incidents.
