A new service terminal named ‘Gold Route’ was opened today for high-income passengers entering the Katunayake International Airport.
Facilities such as Immigration and Emigration, the Customs, food, and communication are available via the ‘Gold Route’ while services can be obtained without having to remain in queues at the airport.
USD 200 will be charged per passenger during online booking in order to utilise the ‘Gold Route’ to access these facilities.
Minister of Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva said steps will be taken to release aircraft turbine fuel from the Katunayake Airport without a shortage from the 20th of August.
The Minister said the Mattala Airport will be restructured while shares will be transferred among foreign investors.
