COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Governor of the Central Bank Nandalal Weerasinghe says he expects inflation to come down to 4-6 percent by around October.
Governor Nandalal Weerasinghe said considering the current trends, inflation is likely to come down faster than earlier forecast.
The Reuters News Agency reported that the CBSL Governor as saying his expectation earlier was to bring down the inflation rate to the preferred by the end of the year.
Inflation, which peaked almost at 70 percent last year, has been steadily coming down.
In February, the inflation was 50.6 percent, according to the Colombo Consumer Price Index.
