COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Surgeries at the National Eye Hospital are scheduled to resume tomorrow.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that surgeries will be conducted at the Eye Hospital as usual from tomorrow.
Following complications to a number of patients, surgeries at the Eye Hospital were suspended.
According to the hospital, complications were caused to patients due to the use of an eye drop known as ‘Prednisolone’ which is imported from India.
The Health Ministry following reports of complications, withdrew the drug. Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella also called for a special investigation following the incidents.
The Health Ministry has now informed that surgeries at the National Eye Hospital will resume tomorrow.
