Officers of the Sri Lanka Customs Postal Appraisal Branch has identified seven parcels that contained narcotics, that were sent to Sri Lanka from Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and the Netherlands via post.
The parcels were not claimed and therefore officials of the Customs, the Postal Department and the Police Narcotics Bureau opened the parcels yesterday (22).
A stock of narcotics were found meticulously concealed inside toys and canned food items.
The narcotics were identified as 4,673g of kush, valued at Rs.70,095,000, and 4,009g of methamphetamine or ice, valued at Rs.95,860,000.
The street value of the narcotics was estimated to be Rs.165,955,000.
The narcotics are currently in the possession of the Police Narcotics Bureau.
