Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Jagath Kumara says he has resigned from the post of  the District Coordinating Committee Chairman of Padukka.

The MP attributed his resignation to the actions of Ministers Gamini Lokuge and Sarath Weerasekara.

MP Kumara said his life would be in danger if he continues to serve as the Padukka District Coordinating Committee Chairman.

He added an ally of Minister Gamini Lokuge was appointed as the Officer in Charge of the Padukka Police Station, while the previous OIC was issued a transfer.

MP Kumara said politicizing the Police will only lead to bias in resolving conflicts.

MP Jagath Kumara claimed the Minister was seeking vengeance for him criticising the Ministers actions of appointing politically biased officers to high posts.
