Several more statements have been recorded yesterday in relation to the death of a 16-year-old girl while employed at the residence of Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen.
It was revealed yesterday that a 22-year-old female who was employed at MP Bathiudeen’s residence between 2009 and 2010 had been sexually abused by his brother-in-law.
Police said the individual had been directed for a medical examination.
Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said the individual was taken to the former Minister’s residence and observations were recorded.
Senior DIG Rohana said 11 females including the 16-year-old girl from Dayagama had been employed at the residence through the broker adding three including the 16-year-old girl had died.
The Police Media Spokesman said one individual had succumbed to cancer while the other domestic worker had committed suicide after leaving the residence.
