COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera has held discussions with World Bank officials pertaining to the proposed reforms of the Ceylon Electricity Board.
Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said the World Bank team assisting the reforms of the electricity sector held talks with him.
The Minister noted that the World Bank has been assisting the proposed CEB reforms with technical assistance in analyzing the financial positions of the CEB, transfer plans and legal frameworks.
Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera added that both parties discussed the possibility of implementing a communication platform on reforms, competitive bidding structures for renewable energy and technical and financial assistance for energy efficiency.
World Bank energy experts and the head of the power sector reform secretariat participated in the discussion.
