Veteran batter Angelo Mathews who contracted COVID-19 last week, has fully recovered and is expected to join the national squad today.
Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement, Mathews has recovered and will be available for selection for the Second Test against Australia in Galle.
SLC added medical clearance has been given for Mathews to be part of the series finale.
Sri Lanka will take on Australia in the second and final Test of the series from Friday at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Sri Lanka must win the encounter to level the series after the Aussies defeated the home team by 10 wickets, last week.
In that encounter, Angelo Mathews scored 39 runs in the first innings before being replaced by Oshada Fernando who managed just 12 runs in the second innings.
According to reports from Galle, SLC has drafted spinners Maheesh Theekshana, Dunith Wellalage and Lakshitha Manasinghe to the squad for the second Test against Australia.
All three are uncapped at Test level and at least one is set to play on Friday after Lasith Embuldeniya was dropped from the squad and fellow left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama was ruled out with Covid-19.
