(NewsRadio); Massive crowds are converging to Hatton to climb the Adam’s Peak after the Sri Pada pilgrimage season began on Wednesday.

This is the first weekend after the post-COVID Sri Pada pilgrimage season began.

NewsRadio area correspondent said despite adverse weather conditions, pilgrims from around the country are arriving in trains.

After two years, health restrictions have also been eased due to the low number of COVID-19 cases being reported in the country at present.

Special train services have also been deployed for pilgrims.

The Sri Pada pilgrimage season runs between this month’s Poya Day and next year’s Vesak Poya Day.
