A majority of COVID-19 cases have been detected from the Gampaha District yesterday.
2,420 COVID-19 cases were identified yesterday, increasing Sri Lanka’s total infections to 313,769.
668 cases were reported from Gampaha, 286 from Colombo, 274 from Kalutara, 270 from Galle, 153 from Jaffna and 92 from Kandy.
86 infections were detected from Badulla, 85 from Kurunegala, 79 from Ampara, 68 from Ratnapura, 49 from Monaragala, 48 from Kegalle, 43 from Hambantota and 35 from Puttalam.
27 COVID-19 cases were recorded from Polonnaruwa, 26 from Batticaloa, 22 from Matara, 16 each from Vavuniya and Anuradhapura and 13 from Matale.
Nine cases were detected from Kilinochchi, seven from Nuwara Eliya, five from Trincomalee, three from Mannar and two from Mullaitivu, while 38 overseas arrivals also tested positive for the virus yesterday.
