Police have arrested a Madagascan national for assaulting an Indian woman at a detention centre for foreigners residing in Sri Lanka without a valid visa.
Police said the suspect was granted bail when she was produced in Court yesterday.
The incident occurred at a detention centre in Mirihana that is under the purview of the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration.
The Mirihana Police is conducting further investigations.
